Our Journey

We've embarked on a journey to infuse diversity into our organization, led by employees at all levels. Our roadmap includes:

  • DEI Assessment: Engaging with a third-party consultant to evaluate and chart a path for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • DEI Committee & DEI Champions: Established in 2020, the committee develops and implements initiatives impacting the entire company, with champions staying connected through engagement opportunities.
  • Unconscious Bias Training: Provided to all employees in 2020/2021 and integrated into the new hire/onboarding process.
  • Guiding Principles: Formed to establish criteria for our DEI initiatives and outline our approach.
  • DEI Focused Position: A Manager of Diversity, Inclusion, and Cultural Initiatives supports the committee, champions, and the company in this journey.
  • Strategic Plan: An annual plan to move these initiatives forward.

DEI Guiding Principles

These DEI Guiding Principles help direct this committee in the work we do and the goals we aim to achieve:

A commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion is the responsibility of all employees at Martignetti Companies. These principles will be used to drive our company culture forward.

  • We acknowledge that regardless of individual intent or actions, there is racism and multiple other forms of discrimination in our society and culture. We reject all forms of discrimination, bias and intolerance in both our workplace and communities. We commit to holding ourselves and each other accountable to this standard. We will demonstrate our commitment to these values in our words and through meaningful actions.
  • We will work to create a Company culture and environment of understanding, compassion, and inclusiveness where everyone can be their authentic selves and feel their voice and contributions are heard, respected, and valued. We will strive to be as diverse as the communities we serve, throughout all levels and areas of our company. We will encourage open and honest dialogue, seeking to understand the experiences and perspectives of others in our daily activities.
  • We will ensure we have tools, training and resources necessary to support Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. We will promote practices that create awareness, appreciation, acceptance and celebration of different cultures, identities, beliefs and abilities.
  • We will hold ourselves accountable to ensure that our processes, policies and practices foster fairness, belonging and equity, in order to reflect the values of our organization.
